Dotty Otley is thrilled to bring you OTSTAR Productions first comical farce Nothing On. Growing up behind the scenes with her mother who was sadly a techie in a small town, she promised herself that she would one day be seen on the stage instead of hiding in the wings. At the age of thirteen, she got her first role as Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz” and never looked back. She left home at the age of sixteen and over the years became known across Canada for her comical characters on stage as well for her romantic endeavours with her fellow male actors off stage. In the past, Dotty has starred in Michael Tremblay’s “Les Belles Soeurs” as Germaine Lauzon, Lady Montague in “Romeo and Juliet” at the Stratford festival and Blanch Dubois in “A Street Car Named Desire”. Her big claim to fame was her exceptional work as Babette the feather duster in “Beauty and the Beast” which ran for ten years on Broadway. Dotty eventually settled down in her late thirties when she met the man of her dreams and married her director and talent agent Michael Samuel. After the wedding, she decided to retire early from the stage. Ten years later and recently divorced, Dotty is returning from her long vacation from the stage and feels that it is time to give back to her fans. Now living back in Canada, Dotty hopes to keep creating for her fans and travel the country spreading her infectious talent.
See you on the stage!
